Sheriff Reid and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is pleased and proud to announce that we now have an automated link on our Sheriff’s Office website to allow anyone to access inmate information on inmates currently incarcerated in our jail. The information will allow relatives wanting to know about charges or bond information to have instant access without having to call officers at the jail. We believe that relatives, the media, and the general public have a right to know who is in jail and what they are in jail for.
This is how it works: Type www.co.randolph.nc.us/sheriff into your web browser. On the right side of the Sheriff’s Office Homepage click on the link “RCJ Confined Inmates”. Read the Disclaimer and then click on the link at the top of the page. A list of current inmates will populate your screen. You can than click on one of the inmate names to open up more information and a picture. Click on the picture to enlarge the picture. The enlarged picture will open in a new window that can be downloaded. This should make it easier for the media to obtain pictures of inmates. All the information on the website is public information. Many thanks to Tom Wassack of the County’s Computer Services Division and members of the Sheriff’s Computer Information Specialists who worked on this project to make it possible. We at the Sheriff’s Office hope this make obtaining information on inmates easier to obtain. The information updates every six hours at 0600, 1200, 1800, and 2400.
