Mission

To provide courteous service and a straightforward process for homeowners and contractors to obtain the necessary construction permits.

Summary

 

The Permitting service area is responsible for issuing the various permits and assisting applicants in this process. This area is the primary duty of two technicians who work out of the satellite office in Archdale. Another technician who works in the Asheboro office assists in this area by issuing permits on mailed-in applications.

Permit Application Forms

When plans are submitted (2 sets for residential & 3 sets for commercial) the Plan Review Application Form must be filled out and submitted with the plans (Note: Licensed General Contractors are not required to submit Residential Plans).

• NOTE:
• The owner of the residential property can always do their own work as long as the owner is going to live in the home.
• Contractors are required to sign for their own work. Only Licensed General Contractors can obtain the permit if the structure is rental or commercial.

	Note: General Contractors are charged an additional $10.00 for Residential Homes or Residential Additions by the N.C. Licensing Board for General Contractors which goes to the Homeowners Recovery Fund.
	* THIS CALCULATOR TO BE USED AS A GUIDELINE FOR CONSTRUCTION COST ONLY.  ACTUAL FEE TOTALS WILL BE CALCULATED AT THE TIME OF ISSUANCE FOR THE BUILDING PERMIT AT THE RANDOLPH COUNTY PERMITS OFFICE.
