Animal Control Ordinance

It's time to find another way to confine your dog in Randolph County.  The County Animal Control Ordinance has changed and chaining your dog as the primary means of confinement to your property is no longer allowed.

Services:

  • Rabies Prevention and Control    
  • • Pick-up of stray and homeless dogs and cats
  • • Quarterly low-cost Rabies vaccination clinics.  See "Rabies Clinics" tab below for dates and locations.
  • • Animal nuisance investigation
  • • Investigation and remediation of neglect and abuse
  • • Human sheltering of homeless and other dogs and cats
  • • Animal adoption and rescue programs, including partnerships with community rescue and adoption groups
  • • Veterinary care for shelter animals through contracted services
  • • After-hours emergency response
  • • Educational programs for school-aged children and the general public on animal care and the importance of     
    spaying and neutering, rabies prevention and animal bite prevention 

Shelter Information:

  • Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
    • Paw icon  The Shelter will be closed to the public March 30, June 29, September 28 and December 21, 2017 for Maintenance. 
  • Animal Adoption Fee is $25.00 (we accept most credit and debit cards)
    • Paw icon Pets that have had medical procedures or have been spayed or neutered while staying with us have a higher adoption fee 
  • We have many cats and dogs to choose from
  • If you have lost a pet, please call or come by the shelter.
